Scouts deliver health message to hundreds of homes
SCOUTS from the Peterborough area joined together in a bid to raise awareness of the importance of donating blood.
The three Ccout packs were the Bretton Beavers, Cubs and Scouts, the Nene Beavers, Cubs and Scouts and the Thorney Beavers, Cubs and Scouts.
And togther they delivered about 8,000 leaflets to households in Peterborough, encouraging more people in the area to become blood donors.
The initiative was carried out as part of World Blood Donor Day and to increase the number of blood donors in the area.
Emma Jackson, Explorer Scout leader with the Nene district, said: “The Scouts were really enthusiastic and wanted to get involved in such a worthwhile cause.”
Joanne Axford, donor relations manager for the Cambridge area, said: “It’s wonderful to see the genuine interest and support that these young people have shown in helping us to recruit more blood donors.”
