Bail for man ar­rested in stab­bing case

A MAN ar­rested in con­nec­tion with a stab­bing in Spald­ing has been re­leased on bail.

The 23-year-old from the Spald­ing area has been bailed un­til Au­gust 20, pend­ing fur­ther po­lice in­quiries.

He was ar­rested on sus­pi­cion of wound­ing in con­nec­tion with an in­ci­dent on June 22, when a 22- year-old man was found bleed­ing in Spring Gar­dens, Spald­ing.

Po­lice found the man at around 12.30am on Tues­day while on pa­trol. He had knife wounds and was taken to Pil­grim Hos­pi­tal, in Bos­ton, for treat­ment.

The wounds are not thought to be life-threat­en­ing. Po­lice have not been able to speak to the man at length yet, but they be­lieve he may have been as­saulted by up to three men, pos­si­bly in the Bedford Place area of Spald­ing.

Of­fi­cers are still ap­peal­ing for any­one who wit­nessed the in­ci­dent, or who has any in­for­ma­tion, to con­tact them at Spald­ing Po­lice Sta­tion on 0300 111 0300, quot­ing in­ci­dent 9 of June 22.
