They’ve been lucky

The Peterborough Evening Telegraph - - News -

WEll that “Black Day” dawned for many of us in the commercial sector back in the summer of 2007 when the sub prime mortgage market crashed and the credit crunch started. The public sector ought to think itself lucky that it has been protected for the past three years. In the commercial sector we’ve been worrying about our jobs, worked hundreds of unpaid hours overtime, seen no pay rises, and doubled our work loads as there have been recruitment freezes. The sick leave seen in Peterborough among public service workers has been astronomical. Double that of the private sector. Welcome to the real world and get used to it. It’s not nice but hey.
