THIS year’s Community Zone at Central Park offers something for all ages and tastes.
Whether you want to look back to the dawn of time star-gazing in the Mobile Planetarium, see what Scouting was really like in the 1950s or sample food from around the world, it’s all here. Mobile PlanetariuM . . . Enter the darkness and explore the stars without any distractions. Let experienced teachers guide you through your journey into space. Suitable for all age groups and abilities, this is a superb opportunity to learn about space in a fantastic, fun and educational environment.
£1 entry fee. Scouting ‘50S Style . . . Peterborough’s Scouts will be creating two camps in Central Park – one from the 1950s, the other from today – to show the advances in Scouting over the past 50 years. They will also be making shelters, creating catapults, running kart races and operating a fantastic climbing tower for you to try.
around the World in 80 PlateS . . .
Enjoy a true taste of Peterborough’s cultural diversity with this opportunity to sample the different foods from Peterborough’s many communities – all under one roof. a real treat for the foodies.
£1 entry fee. charity StallS . . . Visit the charity stalls to bag a bargain and support a good cause, or peruse one of the many informational outlets. Or why not enjoy the nostalgia brought to you by the The Peterborough Classic Car Club? teenfeSt Zone . . . The Teenfest zone will offer a wide variety of activities to get the minds and bodies of the city’s young people working.
a special stage will showcase talent from PRC’s Performing arts courses and the heats of Peterborough’s Youth Got Talent.
The Zone will also be hosting the bbC blast, an interactive experience for teenagers who are interested in the arts and media.
One of the other highlights of the Zone promises to be a Graffiti board area where teenagers can learn more about this popular art form, and even have a go themselves.
