Rebels return to the stage
PUNKY Rebel Media return to the live circuit, playing The Met Lounge, in Bridge Street, Peterborough, tonight.
This will be the band’s first public appearance since the departure of Luke Allport and Ian Gillis last August.
“They’d both moved house around the same time and wanted to spend more time with their families,” explains lead singer Simon Stabler.
“While it was a disappointment, it gave Adam and myself a chance to look for replacements who were in-tune with the sounds in our heads.
“With the new lads onboard, we’re definitely going a step in the right direction.”
Joined by Chris Howard – formerly of The Liontamers – and Liam Marsden, the band have been working on material for their forthcoming album.
A preview of this material was heard on the compilation album This Is Peterborough Too, released by Rowdy Farrago Records earlier this year.
“We’ll be playing that track, called This Is Peterborough at the gig. Ironically it’ll be the most sensible statement on the redevelopment of the city, heard near to the Town Hall in a decade.”
Doors open at 8.30pm and support act Method Behind Madness will be on at 9pm.
Tickets cost £4 in advance, available from the venue, with a credit card by calling 01733 571616.
