Theatre group on tour

STAMFORD Senior Youth Theatre (SSYT) will be taking to the road this summer to present the play Talk-Ease to schools, youth groups and community centres.

Written and directed by Mary Benzies, Talk-Ease tells the story of Simon, a 16-year-old who is obsessed with the silent movie era.

His eccentric black and white on screen “friends” has helped him create a secluded, silent world where he can be a hero, romantic lead and witty comedian all rolled into one.

That is until he stumbles across a well known social networking site on his computer and discovers that making real friends is a lot easier than he’d imagined. “For who needs voices when you have Facebook?”

The Talk-Ease tour is fully booked with 10 dates in total throughout June and July.

Auditions for new members will be held on July 12, 19 and 21 at Stamford Arts Centre and take the form of a group workshop followed by short informal interviews.
