An­tiques fair on the river bank

A POP­U­LAR An­tique and Col­lec­tors fair will take place on the banks of the River Wel­land at Stam­ford Mead­ows this week­end.

The event kicks off to­day and will see about 150 deal­ers split be­tween a huge 200ft mar­quee and out­side sell­ing an enor­mous va­ri­ety of items from fur­ni­ture to jew­ellery with thou­sands of items for the house and gar­den in­clud­ing Vic­to­rian and Ge­or­gian fur­ni­ture, mir­rors, clocks, cut­lery, art deco and art nou­veau as well as dolls, ted­dies and toys and books.

The fair starts at 10am5pm to­day, 9.3am to 5pm on Satur­day and 9.30am to 4.30pm on Sun­day. Ad­mis­sion is £3.50 adults, £3 OAPs and ac­com­pa­nied chil­dren free. A large slice of the tak­ings goes to Stam­ford Town Coun­cil to­wards the up­keep of the mead­ows and an­cil­lary projects.
