Panthers will be perfect for new boy Norbert
NEW boy Norbert Kosciuch reckons Panthers are the perfect club for him.
The 26 year-old Polish capture makes his debut in the crunch clash against play-off rivals Belle Vue.
The Manchester outfit will see what they missed out on as they were also chasing ‘Norbi’, but he opted for a move to the Showground to launch his British career.
Kosciuch’s manager Przemyslaw Nasiukiewicz said: “Norbert’s contract in England is dictated by his desire to improve and develop as a rider. We spoke with Belle Vue too but Norbert wants to come to Peterborough.
“We think this is a good time to try the Elite League. He has shown good form in the Polish League and has been one of the leading scorers in his Swedish club for a few years.
“He is still young enough to go on and develop and he has a driving ambition to get better and this gives him that chance.
“The contract we agreed with Peterborough is for the best benefit of both the club and the rider and he is looking forward to being there for the rest of the season.
“Norbi wants to race in England and Peterborough is an ideal place for him.”
Kosciuch shot to the attention of Panthers bosses with a series of excellent performances in his homeland this season. He is top of the averages for his First League club, Poznan, and has also done well in Sweden.
He will jet into the country this morning and will have his own machinery here to meet him. Panthers sent a van on a 1,000-mile over-land trek to collect his equipment from his base earlier in the week.
