Tait re-signs for the Phantoms
ICE HOCKEY: hopes of success next season received a big boost this week when it was revealed that Warren Tait had agreed to return to the club.
Tait (29) joined Phantoms a few months into last season and immediately won over the Bretton faithful for his versatility and all-action style.
And having played for many seasons in the Elite League, Tait, the younger brother of GB star Ashley, was clearly a big priority for new coach Curtis Cruickshank.
“No disrespect intended to any of the other players but when I took over here Warren Tait was my number one target to re-sign,” said Cruickshank.
“He is a veteran leader who has extensive experience at Elite level and his knowledge of the game will be of huge benefit to us.
“He is an extremely versatile player as well as being probably the best penalty killer in the league and having such a player on the team allows me infinite options in our style of play which can be hugely important with the changing demands of a game.
“He is a fantastic person and I look forward to working with him.”
