Bur­glar hit vic­tim in face and ran

A BUR­GLAR who hit his vic­tim in the face be­fore jump­ing out of a win­dow is be­ing sought by po­lice.

The man was wear­ing a bala­clava when he broke into a house in Mole Drove, Ged­ney Hill, at around 12pm on Thurs­day.

The oc­cu­pant of the house got home and went in through a back door. He heard a noise up­stairs and was half way up the stairs when a man in a bala­clava came down.

The of­fender hit the oc­cu­pant in the face, caus­ing him to fall down the stairs. The of­fender then ran back up­stairs and jumped out of a first-floor win­dow, be­fore run­ning off down the road.

The 51-year-old oc­cu­pant had bruis­ing and grazes and was treated by am­bu­lance staff. Po­lice are ap­peal­ing for in­for­ma­tion on the of­fender, who may have leg in­juries due the height he jumped from. Wit­nesses should call 0300 111 0300.
