Open day to be held at poet’s home

THE John Clare Coun­try Project is host­ing an open day at Help­ston.

The project – which cel­e­brates the his­tory, wildlife and land­scape of the area where poet John Clare lived – will host the event on Sun­day at Wil­low­brooke Farm, from 10am to 30pm.

Fam­ily events will take place in­clud­ing work­ing farm demon­stra­tions, an­i­mal dis­plays, trailer rides around the farm, guided walks to Swad­dy­well Rocks and a mini-beast sa­fari, spot­ting but­ter­flies, cater­pil­lars and more at Cas­tor Hang­lands Na­tional Na­ture Re­serve.

There is free park­ing at the farm, in Stam­ford Road, or vis­i­tors can use cy­cle paths and lanes to get to the event, or­gan­ised in con­junc­tion with The Wildlife Trust, Langdyke Trust and Nat­u­ral Eng­land. For more in­for­ma­tion con­tact Jo Farne on 01780 749483 or 07984 329904.
