Open day to be held at poet’s home
THE John Clare Country Project is hosting an open day at Helpston.
The project – which celebrates the history, wildlife and landscape of the area where poet John Clare lived – will host the event on Sunday at Willowbrooke Farm, from 10am to 30pm.
Family events will take place including working farm demonstrations, animal displays, trailer rides around the farm, guided walks to Swaddywell Rocks and a mini-beast safari, spotting butterflies, caterpillars and more at Castor Hanglands National Nature Reserve.
There is free parking at the farm, in Stamford Road, or visitors can use cycle paths and lanes to get to the event, organised in conjunction with The Wildlife Trust, Langdyke Trust and Natural England. For more information contact Jo Farne on 01780 749483 or 07984 329904.
