Awards plea to business
COMPANIES across Peterborough are invited to enter an animal charity’s Good Business Awards.
The RSPCA is calling for ethically minded companies in Peterborough to enter the 2010 awards which recognise ethical business approaches to animal welfare in the food and fashion industries.
RSPCA head of external affairs David Bowles said: “We want to reward the efforts being made by companies – both large and small – that go the extra mile to promote animal welfare and recognise that consumers haven’t left behind their values in a quest for value.”
Last year’s winners for achieving higher standards of animal welfare included McDonald’s in the restaurant chain category – recognised for its improved animal welfare policies – and the Restaurant Alimentum, in Cambridge, which won best independent restaurant.
Food judge Richard Johnson said: “Customers want to feel assured that the retailers from who they buy from continue to make being animal-friendly easy by using suppliers that rear their animals humanely.”
To enter, go to www.rspcagoodbusinessawards.com before July 9.
