“Working on the hardware department was Marion Medlock and two ladies from Deeping, and Joyce Owen who lived at Sawtry.
“A young RAF man came into the shop when he was home on leave and he always bought toothpaste and shaving soap. Eventually we went out together and when we got engaged we had our photograph taken at May Bones which was next door to TWT.
“I then married the young man to find he only lived a few miles from where I lived.
“Sadly I am on my own now and will be 84 in September. We were very lucky as we had our diamond wedding together and I have a very good family, one son and two daughters.
“If any of these people remember me I would be pleased to hear from them.”
