KING­DOM: SE­RIES THREE (Acorn, cert 12, £19.99) SADLY this is the fi­nal se­ries set in parts of Nor­folk very fa­mil­iar to peo­ple in this area. Stephen Fry re­turns to the role of Peter King­dom, a warm-hearted so­lic­i­tor in the small Nor­folk town of Mar­ket Ship­bor­ough. Now that his as­sis­tant Lyle is a full-fledged le­gal ea­gle he feels ready for a new of­fice and for a new girl­friend too. Peter, mean­while, is about to dis­cover the iden­tity of the fa­ther of his young niece, which proves quite a sur­prise. Cases in­volv­ing sex dis­crim­i­na­tion in the army and mys­te­ri­ous crop cir­cles add to the fun.

8 AF­TER DUSK THEY COME (Metrodome, cert 15, £15.99) IF you fancy a fright some night, here’s a creepy movie star­ring Kel­lan Lutz from Twi­light. As night falls on a group of young trav­ellers stranded in an un­known land, the for­est sur­round­ing them re­veals a world of deadly se­crets. With shad­ows start­ing to shift and evil be­gin­ning to take shape they wit­ness the true, dark heart of ter­ror in an ac­count of how far peo­ple will go to sur­vive in the face of their dark­est fears. It’s a good lit­tle co­coa cur­dler to have you look­ing un­der the bed be­fore switch­ing off the light.
