Lucio snuffs out Ronaldo

The Peterborough Evening Telegraph - - Classifieds -

PORTUGAL ............................ 0 BRAZIL .................................. 0 WITH all the attacking flair in these two sides, an uneventful 0-0 draw was somewhat disappointing, but was enough for both sides to progress.

Portugal had hammered seven unanswered goals past North Korea in their previous game but made four changes and played Cristiano Ronaldo as a sole striker, but he was largely kept quiet by the impressive Lucio.

There were seven bookings but very few chances as Brazil did enough to top the group and Portugal were happy to qualify in second.

Portugal keeper Eduardo was forced into a fine late save to deny Brazilian substitite Ramires while Luis Fabiano missed a good chance.
