Bjerre rewrites the record books again with another brilliant best
THE fastest man in Peterborough speedway history just got a whole lot faster!
Danish star Kenneth Bjerre slashed an astonishing three-tenths of a second off his own Showground track record when lighting up Panthers’ excellent 54-40 triumph over Belle Vue last night.
It was the third time this year that Bjerre has shattered the previous Alwalton best and his latest posting of 58.5 seconds leaves his two previous efforts well behind.
And incredibly he still thinks he can go even faster. Bjerre said: “I knew this was really fast and I was not surprised when I got back to the pits to be told it was another record.
“I’m delighted to have gone even quicker, but it was not perfect. I had to lift off the throttle in the last corner so I think it is possible to go a little bit faster still.”
Bjerre, who notched 14 points helped Panthers climb above their victims into the Elite League playoffs. He will get another chance to rewrite the record books when Panthers host Lakeside Hammers in a crunch televised clash on Monday.
