Ap­peal af­ter bag snatch in city

A WOMAN had her bag snatched while she was wait­ing for a bus in Peter­bor­ough.

The in­ci­dent hap­pened on Wed­nes­day at about 4pm, in Scal­ford Drive, Dogsthorpe.

The man who stole the bag ran off and was chased by two mem­bers of the pub­lic who wit­nessed the in­ci­dent.

The of­fender is de­scribed as white, in his late teens or early 20s and with spiky blonde hair.

Po­lice are also ap­peal­ing for the vic­tim to come for­ward and claim her be­long­ings.

Sergeant Les­ley Smith said: “I’d like to hear from the lady who had her bag stolen, as the bag and all its con­tents have been re­cov­ered.

“Wit­nesses have come for­ward with in­for­ma­tion, but we’d like to speak to this woman or any­one who knows her.”
