Hospice to auction off limited edition Posh shirts
SUE Ryder Care is auctioning off several limited edition football shirts worn by Posh last season.
Peterborough United had agreed to sponsor three charities on their kit last season including ASBAH, Free Kicks and Sue Ryder Care.
Sue Ryder Care, which is based in Longthorpe, Peterborough, is the only charity not to have auctioned off its special shirts yet.
And, as World Cup fever sweeps the nation, this is Posh fans’ last chance to either collect one of the shirts worn by their favourite footballer or to complete their collection if they have already got shirts from the kits auctioned off by the other two charities.
The bidding will commence today – the same day as Posh begin preseason training – with the minimum bid at £25 per shirt.
In two weeks’ time, the bids will be viewed and the highest will win.
Fundraiser at the hospice, Emma Long said: “It’s fantastic that Posh gave the three charities the sponsorship on the kits and we at Sue Ryder Care hope to raise a lot of money from the bidding on the shirts. This is a great opportunity to raise money for Sue Ryder in this way.”
Anyone interested in bidding should call Sue Ryder Care’s Thorpe Hall Hospice fundraising team on 01733 330060 or alternatively e-mail at email@example.com, or visit www.suerydercare.org.
