IF you have ever wanted to say thank you to those involved in healthcare in the city, but felt that a card or a box of chocolates didn’t quite cut it, now is your opportunity to give doctors, nurses or support staff some public recognition.
For the first time ever, a set of awards run by the Peterborough and Stamford Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust will include a category voted for by members of the public.
Nominations for this award could be for a team or individual who has gone above the call of duty, provided outstanding patient care or made a real difference to the patient they have treated, helped or supported.
Any member of clinical or non-clinical staff can be nominated.
Three teams or individuals will be shortlisted from the nominations and the winner will be announced at the awards ceremony on Thursday, October 7.
Chairman of Peterborough and Stamford Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust Nigel Hards said: “As a trust we know how hard our staff work and how dedicated they are to providing excellent patient care.
“However we want our patients to tell us about the staff who have made a difference to them and who they think deserves to be recognised.
“Our patients meet different people and teams at different stages of their care, from initial assessments to those who carry out treatment and to staff who help during recovery and provide after-care, and we want them to tell us who has made a real difference.
“Anyone who works at Peterborough District Hospital or Edith Cavell Hospital can be nominated for an award and there are many clinical and non-clinical staff who do not always recognise the wonderful work they do, so this is an opportunity for them to be rewarded.”
To nominate someone for the Public Recognition Award, simply complete the form printed below, and send it to Hannah Gray, Public Recognition Award, Peterborough Evening Telegraph, 57 Priestgate, Peterborough, PE1 1JW.
