Women get ready for Race for Life

AMONG run­ners lin­ing up for tonight’s Race for Life events will be two Nor­wich and Peter­bor­ough Build­ing So­ci­ety staff mem­bers.

Lucy Hunns, press of­fi­cer at N&P’s Lynch Wood of­fice and Dawn Green, cus­tomer ad­viser at N&P, in Skaters Way, Wer­ring­ton, signed up again this year and will join 2,600 women in the 5km race over at Ferry Mead­ows coun­try Park, off Oun­dle Road, Or­ton Water­ville.

Races will take place from 7.30pm tonight and to­mor­row.

Race for Life is the UK’s largest “women only” fundrais­ing event, where fe­males of all ages walk, jog or run 5km to raise cash for char­ity Can­cer Re­search UK. Run­ners of­ten race in hon­our of a loved one.

Lucy, who will be run­ning with her mother, said: “I’m re­ally pleased to be part of Race for Life again this year, it’s such a fan­tas­tic event.

“I’ve been lucky enough in the past to not be run­ning for any­one in par­tic­u­lar, but this year I’ll be run­ning for my aun­tie who is cur­rently un­der­go­ing treat­ment. I’ve also en­listed the help of my mum, so that makes it ex­tra spe­cial.”
