Pupils serve a tasty meal

The Peterborough Evening Telegraph - - Uk & World Update -

PUPILS have been getting a taste of the action at a top London hotel.

The youngsters from Wisbech Grammar School visited Claridge’s Hotel to pick up some top-class skills in a celebrated kitchen, and they pitched in with the professionals, helping with the busy lunchtime serve.

The girls donned chef whites and hats and they were immediately thrown in at the deep end, peeling prawns in the fish section and then placing them on skewers and dipping them in Tempura batter.

Amongst the guests staying at the hotel on that day was popstar Lady Gaga, and the school’s head of food and nutrition, Mrs Alison Sloan, even bumped into celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay.

She said: “We were very lucky to be able to work in a top hotel.”
