FAMILIES flocked to a sun-soaked midsummer fun day to enjoy a host of delights.

The biennial event took place in the picturesque village of West Deeping on Sunday, on the Tinsley playing field opposite St Andrew’s church.

Among the activities keeping visitors of all ages entertained were children’s sack and three-legged rac- es, a one-mile run, a thrilling tug-o-war game and traditional maypole dancing displays.

Stalls were hosted at the event, selling everything from plants, cakes and books.

Also tempting the crowds was a tombola and raffle. The villagers picnicked and commemorated the occasion with a mass photograph.
