A step in the right direction for city
THE tough decisions promised before and during the recent emergency budget could not have come at a worse time for the fledgling University Centre Peterborough.
At a time when it is still looking to establish itself here in the city, cuts could have been devastating.
Happily, though, it looks as though the opposite is the case and a new stream of funding could see the number of students here grow by 200 – quite a big leap.
Hopefully that will just be the start, as it has often been said a university is vital to the future growth of the city – with a ready made degree-standard workforce key to attracting new businesses.
