Beavers raise cash for hospital
YOUNGSTERS have been raising cash to help a specialist hospital unit.
Whittlesey Beavers members raised £305 at a collection on St George’s Day on April 23.
The collection was organised by the Fenland District Scouts.
Scouting groups pay special attention to marking St George’s Day, as he is not only patron saint of England but of the Scouting movement as well.
After counting up the cash collected, Whittlesey Beavers have now donated it to Papworth Hospital, at Papworth Everard, near Cambridge.
The cash will go to the hospital’s Pulmonary Vascular Diseases Unit (PVDU), which helps people with lung conditions.
Papworth Hospital is one of just six national medical centres for pulmonary hypertension in England.
DONATION: Whittlesey Beavers members with a cheque for £305, which they collected for Papworth Hospital’s PVD unit. (METP-22-0610BD301)
