Firm gets mobile to showcase products
FAMILY firm Casbon Building Services will aim to show it is the premier choice in Peterborough for less-abled and disabled facilities installations when it exhibits at The Mobility Roadshow this week.
A small local business, Casbon will be launching its mobile showroom at the event, from Thursday to Saturday, at the East of England Showground, in Alwalton.
The mobile showroom allows people – usually available by appointment – to view examples of products to suit their needs, including wet rooms, doors, flooring and basins.
The firm also installs ramps and rails, and builds ground-floor extensions to house level-access showers.
“Our experience and care has led to us being a highly-regarded business in this field,” said owner Charlie Casbon, who set up the business 13 years ago, the last six years based at First Drove, Fengate, Peterborough.
Mr Casbon, an ex-bricklayer and jobbing builder, started out specialising in building maintenance for housing associations as well as private work.
About four years ago, the mobility work “took off” through local authority grants, growing to the point where the firm was installing about 100 level-access shower rooms each year.
The business expanded and has led to the launch of the mobile showroom.
“We do grants work, which can be upgraded, and projects for the general public as well,” said Mr Casbon.
“We have the expertise to excel, to be number one in the area in our field.”
Casbon employs two teams of fitters and offers a “first-rate” package.
Care is at the heart of its ethos, providing an individual, personal service, and which Mr Casbon oversees from start to finish.
He is the first point of contact; he surveys the site, discusses of the extent of the work, provides a firm start and finish date, and oversees the job carried by his polite and caring staff.
On completion, Casbon gives a one-year guarantee on the works, then gives the customer Mr Casbon’s mobile phone number to “personally assure efficient aftercare.”
Major UK suppliers, such as Impey UK Ltd, AKW Medi-care and Contour, have been supportive of the mobile showroom.
