Mu­seum set to re­open at Easter

PETER­BOR­OUGH Mu­seum will re-open in Easter 2012 fol­low­ing a £3.2 mil­lion re­fur­bish­ment.

The changes to the city cen­tre mu­seum in Pri­est­gate have been funded by Peter­bor­ough City Coun­cil, Vi­vac­ity and the Her­itage Lot­tery Fund.

New fea­tures in­clude the crea- tion of new ex­hi­bi­tion gal­leries, a cafe set in the Ge­or­gian draw­ing room, a new mu­seum shop and an on-site ed­u­ca­tion suite.

A Vi­vac­ity spokes­woman said: “A fan­tas­tic range of changes and im­prove­ments has taken place over the last year to bring the mu­seum into the 21st cen­tury.”
