Hobson’s trip down Memory Lane
THE village of Glinton is separated from Peterborough by the A15 to the north of Werrington.
Today’s picture show the layout of the village during the last century. How does it compare to today?
The spire of St Benedict’s church, which you can see in the background, is widely considered to be one of the finest needle spires in England.
In fact it is the subject of one of John Clare’s poems Glinton Spire. Clare, although born in the nearby village of Helpston, went to school in the church.
