Me­mo­rial stones are on dis­play at hos­pi­tal

The stones were moved to the Edith Cavell Hos­pi­tal site, as it was known that this was where the new hos­pi­tal would be built.

Un­for­tu­nately the first two bids for a new hos­pi­tal for the city were un­suc­cess­ful.

The stones were not aban­doned; to have moved them may have dam­aged them and would have ex­posed them to the el­e­ments and fur­ther van­dal­ism.

It was al­ways the in­ten­tion to in­cor­po­rate them into the City Hos­pi­tal and this is what has hap­pened. ALI­CIA DAVID Peter­bor­ough as well – not only those on day duty, but the poor night nurses. One was ac­tu­ally shiv­er­ing.
