OFFICERS policing Peterborough United’s home games have launched a new Twitter account providing real-time match-day updates.

Cambridgeshire police are urging Posh fans to sign up to Twitter and follow its new @Footycops account.

The first tweets from the account will be made this Saturday, when Posh face a crucial match at London Road against Championship basement club Coventry City.

The account will be used to provide followers with Posh-related information on issues including travel, safety, crime incidents, designated pubs and coach ar- rangements.

Hayley Cobb, the force’s digital communications officer, said: “Our aim will be to give helpful information to Peterborough United and opposition supporters so they can make informed decisions on issues such as travel and ticket allocations.”
