Ap­peal af­ter sec­ond body found

MIR­ROR­ING Mr Monk’s tragic death, an­other man’s body was found in a river over the week­end in March.

The death is be­ing treated as un­ex­plained but not sus­pi­cious.

Of­fi­cers were called to re­ports of the body just be­fore 11am on Satur­day.

A Cam­bridgeshire Po­lice spokes­woman said: “When our of­fi­cers got there they could see a pair of boots and trousers in the river.

“They then went in to in­ves­ti­gate and found it was a dead man’s body.

“We are still mak­ing in­quiries to find out who the de­ceased was, but hope to make a pos­i­tive iden­ti­fi­ca­tion soon.”

De­tec­tive Chief In­spec­tor Jon Betts added: “We ap­peal for any­one who has any in­for­ma­tion to call us. In par­tic­u­lar we would like to hear from any­one out in the West End on Fri­day.”
