Peterborough street Pastors
group of church volunteers has been heading out into the city centre until the early hours of Saturday morning to help those who need aid for three years.
Their aim is to provide practical help and support for those enjoying a night on the town. The £300 will add to their stocks of water to help with rehydration, flip flops to protect the feet for when the high heels have become too painful, and blankets.
Trustee Christine Graham said: “They are all trained first aiders so they can provide help in that way.
“They also help reunite people who have lost their friends, or help people get home.
“And as much as anything they are a friendly face who will chat to people. Because we have been going a long time people will usually talk to us, and we sometimes wait with them while they are waiting for lifts.
“We are very grateful for the grant – donations like these are a great help.”
