Police advice to prevent break-ins
CAMBRIDGESHIRE Police have given advice to help people avoid being the victims of crime over the Christmas period.
A spokeswoman said: “Simple measures like removing valuable presents from view can be enough to put a burglar off attempting a break-in.
“Tell your neighbours if you are going away so they can col- lect post or move milk bottles to make your home look lived in.
“But the most important thing is report any suspicious activity.
“Offenders will use a range of tactics to find out if a house is empty, from knocking on doors to peering through windows.
“Flagging this kind of behaviour up to police can help us catch offenders in the act.”
