A pair of festive thieves who were caught
DRUG addict Nathan Fountain raided his ill next door neighbour’s home on Christmas Day to feed his heroin habit.
Career burglar Fountain (then 31) of Mount Pleasant, Stanground, took presents and irreplaceable sentimental items as his neighbours celebrated Christmas in 2009 with friends and relatives, but he left blood at the scene which was later matched.
One of his burglary victims had returned from hospital after a kidney transplant just weeks before.
Fountain pleaded guilty to one count of burglary, with 10 other burglaries taken into consideration, and was jailed for three years at Peterborough Crown Court in March 2010. IN Christmas 200 a guest burgled a luxury family home in the Ortons – after being invited to join in festive celebrations
Dale Adams’ foolish Christmas Day escapade was captured on CCTV cameras in a luxury home in Orton Northgate.
Adams (then 1 ) spent three hours in the middle of the night carefully choosing thousands of pounds worth of Christmas gifts to steal by the light of his mobile phone, having hidden himself away while his hosts Melisa and Tony Dell went to bed.
Adams had been invited to spend the evening at the Dells’ home because he had connections to the family, but later took items including a laptop computer, a digital camcorder, Nintendo Wii and Xbox games consoles.
Adams pleaded guilty to burglary in court and was sentenced to a year in a young offenders’ institution.
Mrs Dell said afterwards: “It’s not justice for me. We invited this person into our home and he ruined our Christmas.
“From the moment he walked in he knew what he was going to do. He must have thought it was a treasure chest.
“I could have walked downstairs at any time. It’s frightening to think what could have happened.”
