Chance to climb on the jobs lad­der

STU­DENTS leav­ing school or col­lege next year are in­vited to find out more about their op­tions at an open event at City Col­lege Peter­bor­ough.

Tu­tors will be on hand to talk to young peo­ple who are about to leave school or col­lege, or cur­rently aged be­tween 16 and 19 and not in ed­u­ca­tion, train­ing or work to talk about the pro­grammes avail­able to them.

The event takes place at the Col­lege in Brook Street be­tween 3pm and 8pm on Ja­nu­ray 28.

The col­lege’s mar­ket de­vel­op­ment man­ager, Jackie Hall, said “This event has been de­signed to help young peo­ple who are about to leave school or cur­rently no in work, ed­u­ca­tion or train­ing, to con­sid­er­ing their op­tions to help pre­pare them for the work­place.

“The col­lege of­fers a wide range of full-time pro­grammes and workre­lated ap­pren­tice­ship op­tions for young peo­ple.

“Tu­tors and sup­port staff will be on hand to talk about the pro­grammes avail­able and there will be prac­ti­cal hands-on ac­tiv­i­ties for peo­ple to take part in dur­ing the event.

“The aim of the event is to help young peo­ple make an in­formed de­ci­sion about their fu­ture op­tions.”

The col­lege re­cently re­ceived praise from Of­sted for its foun­da­tion learn­ing pro­gramme de­signed for young peo­ple. It also of­fers ap­pren­tice­ship pro­grammes for young peo­ple.
