Unlike most, I look forward to Monday mornings as I get the chance to spend some quality time with my family and I take my daughter to school.
Monday is the only day when we don’t serve food at embe and although our bar remains open, it gives me a chance to focus on renovating the upstairs area to create a new meeting room space which I hope businesses will be able to hire out in the very near future.
Over lunch I sit down and get on with some admin – preparing the staff rota, noting stock levels and taking bookings. My real passion is food, and I also take time on a Monday to experiment with new dishes – I try to change the menu regularly to keep it fresh and exciting. At the moment I am preparing the menu for our New Year’s Eve party.
