Two drivers taken to hospital after parkway crash
TWO drivers were taken to hospital following a car crash on a city parkway.
Two Renault Clios were involved in the collision on the westbound A1139 Fletton Parkway.
It happened near to its junction with the A1260 Nene Parkway at around 3.30pm yesterday afternoon.
It caused the Fletton Parkway to be partially blocked for around an hour-and-a-half as emergency crews worked to treat the drivers and recover the vehicles.
A Cambridgeshire police spokesman said that the drivers were “walking wounded” when the police and other emergency services arrived at the scene.
He added that they both had suffered “non-lifethreatening” injuries.
They were taken to Peterborough City Hospital by the East of England Ambulance Service for further treatment.
The accident caused congestion along the parkway as well as on the nearby A605 Whittlesey Road.
The cars were recovered and the road was cleared by 5pm.
