Lon­don has big­gest house price rise

The study of house prices across the UK named Lon­don as the re­gion which ex­pe­ri­enced the big­gest rise in prices over the past 12 months.

House prices across the cap­i­tal rose by 5.4 per cent to an av­er­age cost of £298,216.

Brad­ford was named as the best- per­form­ing city over the year, with prices ris­ing by 10 per cent to av­er­age £158,401

The re­port found that North­ern Ire­land ex­pe­ri­enced the big­gest slump, with prices nose-div­ing by 8.9 per cent.

The av­er­age cost of a house there now stands at £113,614.
