Pre-school receives top marks across the board

The Peterborough Evening Telegraph - - Uk&world Update -

A PRE-SCHOOL has scored top marks across the board at its latest Ofsted inspection.

The Parnwell Family Project, which is based in Parnwell Community Centre, in Saltersgate, Peterborough, received outstanding, the highest grade given by the school watchdog, in all of the categories judged in the report.

Ofsted inspector Margaret Barwell said: “This staff team demonstrate meticulous levels of vigilance to maintain the highest standards of safety for children in their care.

“The promotion of equality of opportunity is at the heart of all their work. Observations of children’s learning are used very effectively to plan exciting and innovative play opportunities.

“As a result children from all backgrounds and capabilities thoroughly enjoy their time in the pre-school and make extremely good progress.

“Outstanding relationships with parents, carers and professional agencies contribute significantly to children’s achievements and wellbeing.”

The only area highlighted in the report for improvement was a suggestion that the pre-school should provide time and space for “knowledge-sharing” and support “continuous professional development” for all staff.

Ms Barwell added that the preschool has an outstanding capacity to continuously improve.

The inspection was carried out in February but the report was published on April 11.
