Police step up hunt

The Peterborough Evening Telegraph - - Uk&world Update -

POLICE have stepped up their hunt for three men who attacked an elderly couple with a baseball bat at a raid on their city home.

A 68-year-old woman was knocked unconscious as she and her husband, also 68, were subjected to the terrifying attack in Bifield, Orton Goldhay, at 9pm on April 21.

Detectives are carrying out houseto-house inquiries to find if people living nearby might have any information about the incident. Officers are also trawling through CCTV images to look for clues to the identity of the attackers.

A police spokesman said: “Investigations are continuing and we would continue to appeal for information from anyone who might have any details about this incident.”

The couple’s ordeal began when the husband answered a loud bang at their door to be confronted by three masked men, one of whom was armed with the bat and who attacked him. The trio then entered the living room, knocking the woman unconscious. They searched the property only to leave empty-handed.

Anyone with information should call police on 101.
