Volunteers needed for music event
ORGANISERS of a live music festival taking place in Peterborough are recruiting volunteers.
The Willow Festival will be the largest live music event in Peterborough in 2012 with 123 bands from all over the UK playing across six stages.
It ran from 1998 to 2003 and is returning this year to once again become an annual event in the city.
This year’s event will take place from Friday, May 25 to Sunday, May 27 on the city’s Embankment.
Festival organisers need to recruit 330 volunteers to work before, after and during the three-day festival.
Volunteers are needed for a range of duties including helping to look after the VIP section, stage hands, litter picking and manning information points.
Festival organisers will also be recruiting a smaller number of key volunteers that will coordinate some of the activities on site.
A spokesman for the event said: “The Willow Festival is a free festival and relies on support from the community in the form of volunteers and local businesses to remain free to the public.
“Volunteers can take part for the whole day or as part of a shift pattern.”
