Three na­tional medals for PACTRAC

PACTRAC pro­duced three medal­lists at the English Na­tional Duathlon Cham­pi­onships at Ash­bourne.

Robin Brookes won the 50-54 sec­tion, Ge­orge Pro­drick took sil­ver in the 70-74 age group and Roger Can­ham en­sured PACTRAC picked up a medal of Pos 18 38 164 Name Roger Can­ham Robin Brookes Ge­orge Pro­drick Run 50.46 51.47 75.00 each colour with bronze in the 45-49 sec­tion.

Brookes used all his ex­pe­ri­ence to clinch the na­tional ti­tle but 71 year-old Pro­drick is a novice at the sport.

Pro­drick, also a mem­ber of Wer­ring­ton Jog­gers, only made his duathlon de­but at the Dam­buster Duathlon in March and was so taken by the sport that he de­cided to com­pete on the tough Cars­ing­ton Water course.

He had faster run splits than the gold medal­list but was not as quick on the bike or in tran­si­tions.

Can­ham was PACRAC’S first fin­isher though in 18th po­si­tion over­all.

The event was held over an un­du­lat­ing 7.5mile run, 25-mile bike and 2.5-mile flat run.
