New coach not expecting major changes
PHANTOMS new head coach Jon Kynaston is confident the club does not require major re-building to be successful next season.
Kynaston (pictured right) has taken over the reins after the club endured a difficult campaign in the English Premier League under his predecessor Chris Allen.
Phantoms scrambled into eighth place with Allen as player-coach before going out of the EPL Playoffs in the quarter-finals against Guildford Flames.
But Kynaston doesn’t feel big changes need to be made this summer.
“I am delighted to have signed the five players we have announced over the past few days,” he said. “They are all top assets and we have moved quickly to sign them up as they will not have been short of offers.
“We hope to be able to announce some more signings over the next few weeks but I am not looking to make huge changes to last season’s roster. We are looking at one or two areas where we think the team could improve and we will try to make that happen.
“There might be a few new faces on the team next season but I don’t see a need to overhaul the team too drastically.”
