Bobby Davro to host char­ity sum­mer ball

CO­ME­DIAN and en­ter­tainer Bobby Davro is to host an auc­tion as part of an ex­trav­a­gant sum­mer ball near Peter­bor­ough in sup­port of a chil­dren’s hospice.

Among the items to go un­der the ham­mer in­clude a four-day trip on a lux­ury 80ft yacht on the French Riviera and a Ben De Lisi dress de- signed for and worn by Kate Winslet at a New York film pre­miere.

The event is be­ing held by the James Bar­ney Foun­da­tion, a char­ity founded in mem­ory of a teenage boy from Not­ting­hamshire killed in a car ac­ci­dent in 2008.

It takes place on June 16 at the Hay­cock Ho­tel in Wans­ford with funds go­ing to the Rain­bow Chil­dren’s Hospice in Lough­bor­ough.

The evening also in­cludes live mu­sic, a cham­pagne re­cep­tion, an op­u­lent din­ner and early morn­ing break­fast and the chance to bid for signed sport­ing mem­o­ra­bilia.

A ta­ble of 10 costs £1,000, while in­di­vid­ual tick­ets are £100 each. The venue is able to hold just un­der 250 guests, so places are ex­pected to be booked up fast.
