Bobby Davro to host charity summer ball
COMEDIAN and entertainer Bobby Davro is to host an auction as part of an extravagant summer ball near Peterborough in support of a children’s hospice.
Among the items to go under the hammer include a four-day trip on a luxury 80ft yacht on the French Riviera and a Ben De Lisi dress de- signed for and worn by Kate Winslet at a New York film premiere.
The event is being held by the James Barney Foundation, a charity founded in memory of a teenage boy from Nottinghamshire killed in a car accident in 2008.
It takes place on June 16 at the Haycock Hotel in Wansford with funds going to the Rainbow Children’s Hospice in Loughborough.
The evening also includes live music, a champagne reception, an opulent dinner and early morning breakfast and the chance to bid for signed sporting memorabilia.
A table of 10 costs £1,000, while individual tickets are £100 each. The venue is able to hold just under 250 guests, so places are expected to be booked up fast.
