BUDDING movie stars and producers took to the red carpet at their school’s annual film awards ceremony.

Dogsthorpe Junior School, in Central Avenue, Peterborough held the ceremony last week to mark the end of a project which saw youngsters make their own films to enter the Poscars, the city’s version of the Oscars.

In the two weeks leading up to the Easter holidays, pupils in all the classes at the school wrote the scripts, made the costumes, filmed and edited their films.

The 12 mini-movies, alongside one made by the school’s teachers, were shown at the awards ceremony and seven were chosen by a panel of judges to go on to represent the school in the Poscars, which will take place in July, and received awards.

Natalie Allan, school IT coordinator, said: “The children loved it.”
