Spring fair will mark May Day celebrations

-

CHARITIES and groups will join together to make this year’s Coates village fair the best yet.

Preparations for this year’s May Fair are in full swing and will be held in the North Green from 1pm to 4pm on Saturday, May 12.

It is organised by a small team of governors from Coates Primary School and supported by businesses including the Spar store and Easton Caravan Storage.

Jenny Gamble, one of the organisers, said: “The May Fair is held so that charities and groups can come along and raise money for their causes.

“It is always a great family afternoon out and this year promises to be the best yet.

“We were lucky with the weather last year, as although it poured down with rain in the morning, come 1pm there was a break in the clouds and the sun came out. We hope that the rain keeps away again.”

As is traditional, the crowning of the May King and Queen will kick off events. There will also be a dog show, African dancing, barbecue, fairground attractions and a car boot sale.

Anyone wanting to book a stall should call 01733 840527.
