X Factor stars head for city show
TWO of the finalists from last year’s TV popular X Factor competition have agreed to perform live in concert at the East of England Show this summer.
The show’s runner-up Marcus Collins will be joined by Irish singer Janet Devlin in Peterborough on Saturday, July 7.
This is the first time an outdoor evening concert will form part of the three-day family event which has moved away from its regular June date this year.
The announcement of the X Factor stars’ appearance is a coup for both the show and the recently rebranded Peterborough Arena complex situated inside the East of England Showground.
Peterborough Arena managing director, Keith Dalton, said: “This is going to be a fantastic evening not only for visitors to the show, giving them an extra, exciting dimension to their great day out, but for the general public.
“We are thrilled that Marcus and Janet will be performing in the open air grandstand at the showground, and hope that this marks the start of a new era for live music and big name acts in the city.”
Liverpudlian Marcus recently soared the charts with his cover of The White Stripes’ track Seven Nation Army. Red-head Janet captured the hearts of the X Factor audience with her cover of Coldplay’s Fix You.
This year’s East of England Show takes place from July 6 to July 8. It will be packed with events, attractions and activities for all the family – from agricultural highlights and interactive experiences to classic cars, vintage tractors and shopping.
Admission for the Saturday - to include entrance to the concert – range from £10 for a child ticket and £19 for an adult ticket (£17 senior citizens concession) to £45 for a family ticket.
Admission to the concert only, after 4pm, is £15.
