Factfile... on Royal Jubilees

The Peterborough Evening Telegraph - - News -

QUEEN Elizabeth II is the fourth British monarch to celebrate a jubilee but only the second to make it to 60 years.

King George III was the first to celebrate a Jubilee, as we do today, when he celebrated his Golden Jubilee in 1809.

Queen Victoria celebrated her Golden Jubilee in 1887 and her Diamond Jubilee ten years later.

Her 60 years on the throne was marked with a Royal Procession, led by the Queen, from Buckingham Palace to St Paul’s Cathedral and back.
