Cos­tumes at pa­rade

MEX­I­CAN ban­dits and Hawai­ian hu­la­girls will be among the sights on show at the Spald­ing Flower Pa­rade this week­end.

Lin­colnshire fancy dress com­pany Smiffy’s has pro­vided a large va­ri­ety of cos­tumes for par­tic­i­pants to wear on the many floats that will go through the town at the pa­rade this Satur­day.

The 54th Flower Pa­rade will start from the Spring­fields Events Cen­tre, off the A16, at 2pm be­fore go­ing on its three­mile jour­ney to the Sir Hal­ley Ste­wart Play­ing Fields where the floats will go on show from 4pm to 6pm.

The floats parad­ing through the town will be dec­o­rated with more than 1.3 mil­lion tulip heads. Mu­si­cal per­form­ers will in­clude the Spald­ing Ukelele Band and Spald­ing March­ing Am­bas­sadors.
