School views on in­spec­tions sought

A HEAD­TEACH­ERS’ union is call­ing on schools to re­port their ex­pe­ri­ences of Of­sted in­spec­tions amid con­cerns that the watch­dog is do­ing lit­tle to help raise stan­dards. The Na­tional As­so­ci­a­tion of Head Teach­ers (NAHT) said it is launch­ing a new web­site called School View, which it de­scribes as an at­tempt to “cap­ture the real picture” of what hap­pens dur­ing school in­spec­tions. The union said it plans to put the ev­i­dence it col­lects to Of­sted to “per­suade them to ad­dress the vari­able qual­ity of its in­spec­tion teams and to con­cen­trate on help­ing schools im­prove rather than sim­ply crit­i­cis­ing them”. * BEY­ONCE has re­vealed she had a mini-makeover be­fore de­liv­er­ing her baby girl.
