Bring a dish to pic­nic for com­mu­nity

LOVERS of the great out­doors are be­ing in­vited to a com­mu­nity pic­nic tak­ing place at a Peter­bor­ough venue next month.

The Green Back­yard En­vi­ron­ment Project is hold­ing a “bring and share” com­mu­nity pic­nic to cel­e­brate both this year’s Peter­bor­ough Green Fes­ti­val and the Big Ju­bilee Lunch 2012 on Sun­day, June 3, from 12 noon.

Those at­tend­ing will join peo­ple across the whole of the UK who will have lunch to­gether in an event de­signed to be a sim­ple act of com­mu­nity, friend­ship and fun.

A spokes­woman for the Green Back­yard said: “Bring along a dish to share, if pos­si­ble made us­ing lo­cal in­gre­di­ents and add it to the feast for ev­ery­one to tuck in to.

“This pic­nic won’t work if peo­ple don’t bring food so please do try to bring some­thing, even if it’s a bag of crisps.

“Bring a sam­ple of your best soup recipe for the judges to sam­ple and win a ham­per of good­ies.

“There will be mu­sic all day and the chance to buy some lovely plants for your gar­den or al­lot­ment”
